The Advanced Warfighter / Military Tactical Action Basic rules |
The Ghost Recon squad, led by Scott Mitchell, is expert into surviving and overcoming dreadful military situations by using their sharp military tactics. In this realistic conflict, “run and shoot” behaviors are not a viable option and will only bring quick death to our heroes. To prevail, Scott Mitchell must use his tactical assets at their bests:
- RECON
The Enhanced Reality Display system, including the 3D Map, is designed to help the Ghost Leader spotting, locating enemies and keeping track of his Squad and allied Support location.
-
COVER
When in unsecured areas, especially during Military Operations in Urban Terrain, a Ghost must keep a low profile as much as possible. Taking covers behind objects and wall corners is the best way to spot the enemy first and to engage the combat from the safer positions.
-
ORDER
The Ghost squad and all other available Supports are crucial into overcoming the most difficult situations: If managed and ordered properly, they empower the Ghost Leader in both Recon capacities and firepower to help him survive in hostile terrains.
-
ASSAULT
When combating, a Ghost Leader mustn’t forget to make use of frag and smoke grenades to make his way toward enemy’s positions and must try to flank them when it is possible. Fleeing a combat and flanking from side paths is always an option.
Hints & Tips
- The CrossCom
The CrossCom is a command interface that allows you to communicate with your team members and see through their eyes. Whenever one of your CrossCom partners fights, its window blinks. If he has some information to pass on to you, an exclamation mark appears.
-
Intels
When an enemy is located, his symbol appears in your HUD. To anticipate combat and surprise the enemy, you can send your team-mates or your UAV drone to recon the terrain. ou will then be able to locate the different enemy positions.
-
The combat zones
Your objective is shown constantly in your HUD. If you leave the combat zone, the mission will be cancelled. When Bud tells you that you're approaching the boundary of a zone, do not hesitate to open the tactical map to find out where you are and take the best route.
-
The tactical map
The tactical map gives you a global view of the battlefield. Once the map is open, use the left thumbstick to designate a position, then press Up on the D-Pad to order the speaker selected in the CrossCom to go there. If you designate an enemy, your speaker will attack him.
-
VIPs
Some people are crucial for your mission. If they die, the mission will fail. When you have to protect someone, be doubly vigilant by consulting the tactical map and advancing as much as possible under cover to avoid being located.
-
Rally points and containers
Rally points enable you to heal yourself and change weapons and team-mates. You will also find different kinds of container: some allow you change weapons and heal yourself, others to stock up on ammunition.
-
Detection goggles
Keep X pressed down to display the Detection Goggles menu. Select Detection goggles to shift into night and thermal vision, enabling you to locate your enemies at night or in the fog. From this same menu, you can also deactivate or reactivate the display of intels on your HUD.
-
HUD scramblers
These scramblers disrupt or block the acquisition of information by your HUD. If you succeed in locating them, you can destroy them by firing at them or by using explosives.
-
Overheating of heavy machine guns
During a sequence of prolonged firing, heavy machine guns heat up and end up jamming. Keep an eye on the heat gauge: if the weapon overheats, stop firing and wait for it to cool down.
